The Directorate of AYUSH, Assam was created vide Govt. Notification No.HLB.221/2009/21 dated 28/02/2011 and has been functioning since the month of June 2012. At present the office of the Directorate AYUSH is situated at Basistha Road, Banphool Nagar Path, House No-01, Guwahati-06.The Directorate of AYUSH in the state controls the Ayurvedic & Homoeopathic system of Medicine. There is one Ayurvedic College and three Homoeopathic Medical Colleges in the State and there are Ayurvedic & Homoeopathic Dispensaries attached to the District Civil Hospitals, CHCs, PHC, MPHCs and State Dispensaries.
